Phases of a Tracking Command

A tracking command for a dog involves three distinct phases:

  1. Search Phase
    The dog actively attempts to locate a track by sniffing the ground and surrounding area.

  2. Deciding Phase
    Once the dog identifies a potential track, it sniffs longer and determines the correct direction of the track.

  3. Tracking Phase
    After confirming the direction, the dog begins following the track with focus and precision.
